- Khonoma Village
The village endowed with splendid
scenic beauty and ecological diversity was earlier known for its fighting
prowess. On the way to the village are memorial stones commemorating 'Feasts of
Merit' and the intricate system of bamboo pipes, through which water is
supplied. Traditionally carved ceremonial gate of the village relates the story
of British infiltration into Naga hills. The Khonoma Nature Conservation and
Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS) was established to conserve the endangered Blyth's
Tragopan pheasant and other wildlife and rare species of plants in its natural
habitat.
